Family owned and run since 2006 a truly laid back bed and breakfast and house party venue.
The House was a former rectory modelled on the Gothic Revival style of the 1860's
and built on the grounds of a former Carthusian Monastery.
The high ceilings and large windows make the public rooms very bright and welcoming
and there are 11 double en suite bedrooms with slight Asian touches - and all with a view!
The two acre parkland gardens are just fabulous and nature is allowed to run its course
as it is left quite wild.
It was the formal garden for the rectory hence the wonderful selection of trees,
and wild flowers grow everywhere so no one knows what will pop up the following year.
Guests have described it as a 'magical' garden and it's like being in a mini park.
There's a brook and a pond at the bottom of the garden and the water comes from a nearby spring
where the monks reputedly brewed their beer hundreds of years ago.
And there is a 'ha ha' - a trademark quirk of country houses!
